Evaluation: Practical knowledge for Vietnam
The Vietnamese delegation drew a positive conclusion and took away numerous practical insights into NORM management, radiation measurement, industrial processes, and radiation protection regulations for application in Vietnam.
The Vietnamese delegation was very satisfied with the study trip. Particular highlights included the insight into industrial pigment production at KRONOS and the practical seminars on radiation measurement and the immobilization of NORM residues. Further valuable insights concerned the management of NORM residues, from proper handling and transport to disposal, as well as German and European radiation protection regulations. For future formats, the participants wished for more preparation time and comprehensive documentation of the information. Overall, all participants drew a positive conclusion: high satisfaction, clear learning outcomes, and many practical elements that can be directly applied in the Vietnamese context, including its titanium industry.
